  • Bert Downs
    Dr. Bert Downs

    Dr. Bert Downs is the Chancellor and former long-time President of Western Seminary. Bert is also the former General Director of the Southwest Church Connection of the Conservative Baptist Association, and serves as a teacher, and consultant for ministries around the nation.

    Dr. David Jones

    David Jones is Vice President of Corporate Affairs and CFO of the Luis Palau Evangelistic Association, and Executive Director of the Palau Foundation for World Evangelization. He has also served on many ministry boards including "Need Him Global" and "SAT7."

  • John Johnson
    Dr. John Johnson

    Dr. Johnson is Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology at Western Seminary and lead pastor at Village Baptist Church in Beaverton, Oregon. Dr. Johnson is a M.Div. and Th.M. graduate of Western Seminary and earned his Ph.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas.

    Dr. Glenn Daman

    Dr. Glenn Daman is pastor of First Baptist Church in Stevenson, Washington, and the former director of the Institute for Church Health. Glenn earned two masters degrees from Western Seminary and the Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

    Dr. Todd Miles

    Dr. Todd Miles is Associate Professor of Theology at Western Seminary, Portland, Oregon. He earned his B.S. and M.S. from Oregon State University, the M.Div. from Western Seminary, and his Ph.D. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

  • Carl Laney
    Dr. Carl Laney

    Dr. Laney is Professor of Biblical Literature at Western Seminary. He earned the Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees from Western Seminary, and the Doctor of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary with post-doctoral research and excavation in Israel with the Institute of Holy Land Studies, Jerusalem.

  • Bev Hislop
    Dr. Bev Hislop

    Dr. Hislop is Professor of Pastoral Care and the founder and former director of the Western Seminary Women’s Center for Ministry. She is an M.S.M. graduate of Multnomah Biblical Seminary and earned the Doctor of Ministry at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.  Dr. Hislop is also the author of “Shepherding Women in Pain” and “Shepherding a Woman’s Heart” from Moody Publishing.

  • Gary Thomas
    Dr. Gary Thomas

    Gary is a lifelong advocate of using the Christian classics to bring people closer to Christ. Gary earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from Western Washington University. In addition, he holds a Master’s degree with a concentration in systematic theology from Regent College in Vancouver, B.C., where he studied under Dr. J.I. Packer. In 2006, he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon.

  • Gerry Breshears
    Dr. Gerry Breshears

    Dr. Breshears is Professor of Theology at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Breshears is an M.Div. graduate of Denver Seminary, and earned the Ph.D. from Fuller Theological Seminary.

  • Marc Cortez
    Dr. Marc Cortez

    Dr. Marc Cortez teaches in the Ph.D. program at Wheaton College and is the former Academic Dean of Western Seminary. Marc earned his bachelors degree at Multnomah University, the M.Div. and Th.M. degrees at Western Seminary, and the Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews, in St. Andrews, Scotland.

  • Gary H. Lovejoy
    Dr. Gary H. Lovejoy

    Gary H. Lovejoy has conducted a private counseling practice for over 30 years serving individuals, couples, and families. He continues an active practice with Valley View Counseling Services, LLC in Portland, Oregon. A professor of both psychology and religion at Mt. Hood Community College for 32 years, Dr. Lovejoy earned a master’s degree in religious education from Fuller Theological Seminary and a master’s in psychology at California State University, Los Angeles. He completed his doctorate in psychology while attending the United States International University.

  • Gregory M. Knopf
    Dr. Gregory M. Knopf

    Gregory M. Knopf, M.D., has been a family practice physician for 30 years and is the founder and medical director of the Gresham-Troutdale Family Medical Center. He is a graduate and Clinical Associate Professor of Family Medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Knopf has a particular interest in the treatment of anxiety and depression.
